1. Who controls your data
FlatTyreHelp Ltd is the data controller for personal data collected through this site. Contact us at help@flattyrehelp.com.
When a fitter is matched to your job and receives your details, that fitter becomes an independent controller of the data they hold for the purpose of carrying out the work.
2. What we collect
When you send a request
- Location: the postcode where the vehicle is, plus any access notes you add.
- Job details: the problem, urgency, setting, vehicle type, tyre size, number of tyres, and any description or photographs you supply.
- Vehicle: registration, where you choose to give it.
- Contact: first name, UK mobile number, and email address if you provide one.
- Consents: your acceptance of terms, and any separate marketing consent.
When you apply as a fitter
Name, trading name, business status, contact details, coverage area, services and capabilities, equipment, experience, and insurance and waste-carrier status. Verification may involve identity and business documentation.
Automatically
Standard server log data (IP address, browser, pages requested) and, if you consent, analytics data about how the site is used.
3. Why we use it, and our lawful basis
- To match and fulfil your request — necessary for the performance of a contract, or to take steps at your request before entering one.
- To pass your details to matched fitters — same basis. This is the core purpose of the service.
- To operate, secure and improve the platform — our legitimate interests in running a functioning, safe service.
- To handle complaints and disputes — legitimate interests, and legal obligation where applicable.
- Marketing emails — your consent, given separately and withdrawable at any time.
- Analytics and non-essential cookies — your consent.
The core tyre-request workflow works regardless of whether you accept non-essential cookies.
4. Who we share it with
- Matched fitters. Only those to whom your job is actually routed, and only the details needed to quote and attend.
- Service providers. Hosting, communications (SMS/email), payment processing and analytics, acting on our instructions under contract.
- Professional advisers and authorities where we are legally required to disclose.
We do not sell your personal data, and we do not pass your number to fitters who were not matched to your job.
5. How long we keep it
- Requests that do not proceed: up to 12 months, then deleted or anonymised.
- Completed jobs: 6 years, to meet accounting and limitation requirements.
- Fitter records: for the duration of the relationship and 6 years afterwards.
- Marketing consents: until withdrawn, plus a record that it was withdrawn.
- Server logs: typically 90 days.
6. Your rights
Under UK GDPR you have the right to access your data, to have inaccurate data corrected, to have data erased in certain circumstances, to restrict or object to processing, to data portability, and to withdraw consent at any time without affecting processing already carried out.
To exercise any of these, email help@flattyrehelp.com. We respond within one month.
You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office — ico.org.uk, helpline 0303 123 1113.
7. Security
Traffic to this site is encrypted in transit. Access to request data is restricted to staff and matched fitters who need it. We keep records of who has accessed job data.
8. Where your data is held
Primarily within the UK and European Economic Area. Where a provider processes data elsewhere, we rely on UK adequacy regulations or the International Data Transfer Addendum to the EU Standard Contractual Clauses.
9. Children
This service is not directed at children and we do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18.
10. Changes
We will post any changes here and update the date at the top. Material changes affecting how we use your data will be notified more directly.
