When do you need help?

Free to send, no obligation, and no payment details needed. We only pass your details to fitters matched to your job.

What roadside tyre assistance actually involves

Roadside work has rules. A mobile fitter can attend a lay-by, a service area, a car park, a residential street or a safe verge on a minor road. They cannot work on a live motorway carriageway or hard shoulder, and they will decline any location where they would be working in moving traffic.

When you send a request we ask where the vehicle actually is, so the fitter can judge that before they set off — rather than arriving and refusing the job.

What is included

  • Safe-location check — We confirm whether a mobile fitter can legally and safely work where you are stopped.
  • Spare wheel fitting — If you have a usable spare or space-saver, that is often the fastest route back on the road.
  • Repair or replace on site — Where the location allows and the damage permits.
  • Escalation to recovery — If the situation needs recovery rather than a tyre fitter, we tell you straight away instead of wasting your time.

Questions

Roadside Tyre Assistance — the common questions.

If yours is not here, send a request and describe it. There is no charge and no obligation.

Only if you are well away from moving traffic. If you are on a motorway or a fast dual carriageway, leave the vehicle on the left, get behind the barrier and call 999. If you feel unsafe anywhere else, call 999 first — a tyre can wait.

Yes. Service areas, truck stops and lay-bys on A-roads are all workable locations for most fitters.

Sometimes. The van needs headroom — typically 2.1 m or more — so tell us the car park name and level if you can.

Check it first: many policies include a tyre callout, though they often will not supply a new tyre. FlatTyreHelp is a paid service, not a membership, so use whichever gets you moving.
